Nineteen-year-old Fletcher Abel is set to make his debut on the Vanuatu Men’s Beach Volleyball team, partnering with seasoned gold medalist Stivano Banga at the upcoming Palau Mini Games in July.
A foundation student at the University of the South Pacific’s Emalus Campus, Abel steps in as the new blocker, replacing James Chilia—Banga’s former teammate who, alongside Banga, claimed gold at the Northern Mariana Mini Games in 2022.
The duo now aims to defend their title and uphold Vanuatu’s dominance in the sport.
